Our friends over at WEZOREE did a lovely feature to meet Elyse! It was a beautiful honor and I would be happy for you to read both my answers and their take on our brand! Thank you WEZOREE!
- Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your background in wedding planning? Years of Experience in Wedding Planning. How did you get started in wedding planning? What inspired you to become a wedding planner?
- After working as an assistant on my first wedding in college, I was hooked on the buzz of excitement and love all around! A few years later, I started my company as a class project from my bedroom at the Delta Zeta sorority house, and dreamt that the business could become my career! Fast forward 13 years and I am living that dream – meeting clients from all around the world and introducing them to my magical city of New Orleans! Specializing in luxury destination weddings to Nola and beyond, we love combining precise logistics and elevated custom design to design your dream wedding weekend!
- What do you like most about wedding planning?
- Meeting couples from all over the country, getting to know who they are to their core and infusing those details into their wedding weekends! By understanding their needs, we can earn their trust so they can let go and truly be present for their festivities! We don’t get to spend a ton of time together in person – but we always make it count by laughing through our planning conversations while cheersing over cocktails!
- What services do you offer to clients? Do you provide various packages? Are there any additional services you offer? Can you work with the couple to create a custom package that meets their specific needs?
- We do offer two levels of service – 1) full service planning which incorporates anything and everything that goes into the wedding day (or weekend) and 2) partial planning which includes vendor recommendations, full planning design services, and event management. We call our full service planning the “Whole Shebang” as it comes with all the planning essentials plus all the extra flair – and this is our favorite way to plan as it allows us all the extra time and insight to build the dream from the ground up. My associate Ashely and I are huge information seekers, which gives us all the data we need to pre-plan every single detail and moment with precision! We know it’s done with the utmost attention and forethought from day one! When we start right, we know we’ll always end right – a valuable lesson my grandfather taught me!
- What’s the most memorable wedding you’ve ever planned and why?
- I love a full transformation! Give us a plot of grass or an empty parking lot and watch us shine as we manufacture a space where every detail is curated to your style! We got to do just that a few months ago for Maddie and Eric in the New Orleans Museum of Art’s Sculpture Garden! The beautiful garden is the home of hundreds of sculptures, but provides nothing but an open space for events – no power, no water, no bathrooms or kitchen. We partnered with an incredible team of vendors to build level sub flooring which got carpeted, erected a 6,000 sq foot climate controlled tented structure, added lush greens and wisteria to all ceiling rafters, and designed an elevated yet comfortable space for the 350 guests to enjoy for 5.5 hours! It took the team 5 days to build and 2 days to dismantle, all in rain and freezing temps! But truly at the end of the day, the couple and the guests were blown away and over the moon and that makes every stressful moment worth it! High risk and higher reward, and it just proved to us how talented we are at pre-planning all the logistical layers of a tented wedding!
- What is your comfortable weddings count per year?
- We plan 10 weddings per year so that we have the time to make our clients feel like they are our only couple! As the scale of our weddings grow larger, they take more time and planning to customize every detail!
- What is your average rate for wedding planning?
- Our full planning services start at $25,000 and scale up with the production level.
- Are there specific venues you’re mostly working at?
- I have two young daughters, and lucky enough to live so close to the magical city of New Orleans which is a huge hub for destination weddings! So we still get to specialize in destination weddings, but they are destination TO US – where we get to be the experts on our venues, vendors, and our city! There are so many venues that we love which incorporate the melting pot of our culture, the Nola architecture, and feeling our city infuses into your bones which begs you to have a good time!
