Something Blue at Race and Religious

Brooke and Jacob were our Something Blue at Race and Religious in New Orleans in 2021! A couple who couldn’t have been sweeter, navigating the roller coater of a pandemic and when they would be able to FINALLY celebrate in full force! I know you can tell from the megawatt smiles in these photos that it was worth the wait, and they danced like there was no tomorrow!

The couple chose Race and Religious as the backdrop of their big day – a venue where two historic homes are now connected by super cool courtyards and a pool! The space is funky and quirky and just the vibe for these two! After a ceremony in the courtyard, a second line band took them on a parade through the streets and back to Race and Religious where the space had been flipped! They dined over a family style seated dinner with emotional speeches, and then once they got dancing, they truly never stopped!

The day was loose but elevated. Casual and colorful, yet so well done and complete! We loved working all of the soft blue details into the day from the chair cushions, to the knotted napkins and all the bar details and paper! The warm wood tones were the perfect contrast to set the relaxed-yet-luxurious tone for the evening! The vibe of the night couldn’t have fit their styles more perfectly!

In true Nola style, we are typically starting the party AS SOON as the couple says I do! And for a second line parade, you need to wave a hanky! So we love to combine a wedding program with a second line hanky so the product serves both purposes! Talk about bang for the buck! Had to add that something blue at Race and Religious too!
