Draped Tented Wedding at Southern Hotel

Once upon a time, at the dawn of the pandemic, two lovebirds were set to marry in New Orleans at the Ritz Carlton. Shutdown after shutdown later, we picked up their plans with less than 3 months notice, booked a new venue out of town, and the magic (albeit different) came alive! Follow along on the journey of this draped tented wedding at Southern Hotel in Covington, Louisiana.

I truly just felt PTSD starting to type out the (controlled) chaos of moving this ultra luxury wedding from a ballroom to a tent in the August heat – and while the rules continued changing daily- so I will just elaborate on the beauty that DID happen!

Victoria and Blake’s wedding was every bit as spectacular as the original plan would have been! The girls had one big sleepover and got ready at the chic Estate at Charropin Beach! It offered the cleanest, Southern backdrop for their first look and group photos too! Then we headed over to the church and holy moly just wait until you scroll down! The floral arches were 20 feet tall X TWO! It was quite the first impression! Then it was time to reveal the draped tented wedding reception at Southern Hotel! First of all, it was August in Louisiana, so it was sweltering. We draped the white tent with champagne fabric and pumped a whole lotta AC in there! Crystal orbs hung from the draped tent, adorned with greens. Lavish centerpieces, an intricate fondant cake, soft seating galore, and ALL the fun they expected out of their pre-covid wedding!
